When I read a new blog, I read the “about me.” I am curious to know, “Who is this person?” So let me tell you about who I am. I laugh at myself when I goof up. I write stories in my head, but I struggle to sort out the words to make them flow when I put them on paper. I am crazy in love with my husband and my kids are my heart. I’m at a place in my life where I should relax and enjoy, but I have this feeling there is something I want to achieve. This feeling drives me to write.
Facts: I am a writer, a reader, a wife, a mom, a grandmother, and a retired teacher.
Human Interest: I live in a big old house with two amazing teenagers and my phenomenal husband. We share this old house with a goldfish and a tortoise cat. Our eldest son is grown and lives with his wife and our two precious grandsons.
I Read: a variety of books such as, The Weird Sisters, The Tell Tale Brain, Alexander McCall Smith’s Isabel Dalhousie novels are clever, but my favorite “curl up to read” books are young adult fantasy like Michael Scott’s, The Alchemyst. I enjoy some of the classics too, Dickens! … Gone With the Wind, anything by Steinbeck, and obscure books like The Egyptian by Mika Waltari. My contemporary hero is Stephen King, but I would like to write like Madeline L’Engle.
Likes: Moonlight walks, happy endings, gardens, rocks, sitting by the fireplace, cheese enchiladas, reading, writing, movies, desserts, Downton Abbey, Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes, exploring, walking, traveling, and people, but not necessarily in that order.
